Junior Varsity Blanks Merrimack, 2-0

Having prepped for the match on the Merriman-Branch turf, the Junior Varsity was ready to take on Merrimack at the plush GPS grounds.  The Marauders got goals in each half and played more airtight defense to beat the Tomahawks 2-0 and improve their record to 7-1.

Freshman Blake Palmer opened the scoring in the first half,  running onto a through pass from his classmate Kyle Doucette and finishing at the far post for his fourth goal of the season.

Sawyer Hanlon made the outcome a certainty midway through the second half, running down a long lead pass from Andy Rightmire, racing past an overmatched defender, and finishing clinically for his second goal in two matches and fourth overall.

The Marauders will now have a week off before traveling to Nashua on Friday for a game against Bishop Guertin at Mines Falls park.  Please note this location, as opposed to the BG campus.

Speaking of trips to Nashua, we have confirmed Hanover's participation in the annual JV Tournament on Sunday, October 23.  Please save the date, and note that the scheduled bus departure time is 6:00 a.m., in anticipation of a first-round game at 8:00 a.m.  The Marauders have traditionally made it at least as far as the semifinals in this unofficial Division One state JV championship.
