Junior Varsity beats Timberlane 3-2; Now 12-1

The Marauder Junior Varsity continues to play close games against good teams, and continues to win.  On Tuesday at Timberlane, Hanover earned a 3-2 victory, their fourth one-goal triumph in a row, and tenth successive win.  The Marauders are now 12-1 on the season.

Blake Palmer got the scoring started in the eighth minute, beating two defenders off the dribble and lashing the ball into the lower right corner for his team-leading seventh goal of the season.  Timberlane, which entered the contest with an 11-1 record identical to Hanover's, equalized before halftime.

The Marauders re-took the lead ten minutes into the second half when Palmer threaded a curving pass through two defenders and connected with Lincoln Adam, who deposited his third goal of the season.
Five minuted later Adam was on the assisting end of Hanover's third goal, when his long throw-in found Sawyer Hanlon, who dribbled past an overpowered defender and gave the Marauders a 3-1 lead.  It was the sixth time this season that Hanlon has found the net.

Hanover kept threatening, and appeared to have scored a fourth time when Christo Dragnev hit a shot toward the upper corner until it was knocked aside by a defender.  There was no call, however.
Hanover's defense, led by back Gary Li and Alex Purcell, and midfielder slash defender Kyle Doucette,  continued to lock Timberlane down until the final minutes, when an Owl corner kick was inadvertently headed into the Hanover net by a defender.

The Marauders return home to the HHS grass on Thursday, hosting Dover at 4:00 p.m.
