A long, plodding 2 1/2 hour bus ride did little to take the starch out of the Marauder JV, who beat their undermanned Spaulding counterparts 14-0 on Friday. Hanover scored five times in the first half, getting goals by Will Laycock, Colm Seigne, Blake Palmer, Pedro Gallino and Fletcher Kaplan-James.
Although they tried to play possession ball in the second half, it's not always easy to do so without making a shambles of the game. The Marauders added another nine goals. Will Laycock added two, to claim a hat trick. Tommy Madden also had a brace, and Blake Palmer notched his second one. Christo Dragnev, Andy Rightmore, Adam Blackburn, and Ben Ralston-Daniel added single scores.
Madden collected two assists, as did Pierre Mayo. Caleb Benjamin, Laycock, Fletcher Kaplan-James, Vincent Versteeg and Owen Stadheim addded assists. Harris LaRock didn't see a single shot in collecting the shutout.
Now 5-1, the Marauders return home on Tuesday for a 4:00 match with Nashua South on the HHS grass field.
